Montreal, QC - Oreos in the Sunshine, an electronic music performance that aims to push the audience-performer relationship, was workshoped in front of live audiences. The premier performance took place on September 16th, 2023 at Maison de la culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce – Botrel and featured prompts that invited audience members to contribute specific sound events that were incorporated directly back into the soundtrack.

The theory behind the proposed performance argues that the more "open" a performance is, with more opportunities to diverge from a planned direction, and the tighter the feedback loops are, with quicker integration of audience feedback, the more interesting the performance becomes for all parties involved. By inviting the audience in as co-creators, Oreos in the Sunshine explores a new type of audio-visual performance that aims to push the boundaries of the give-and-take relationship between performers and their audience.

Oreos in the Sunshine is a collaboration between Multimedia Artist Cassidy Lerman, Music Producer Alicia Hush A.K.A Falicia Lush and sound technician + Sound Producer Jesse Morrison A.K.A Fake Electronics.

<aside> 📑 As audiences, we are participants in the event. By feeding the emotional and atmospheric dynamic of a performance, we play an integral role in a play's realization. When an artist takes a risk, we take a risk with them. And when they fail or succeed, we fail or succeed with them.
